Good idea Matt, it will be interesting to see the poll results.

I used the following rule that my mother told me when naming children…You never know what your child will be president, judge, artist, etc. She told me to say the name with “The honorable Judge” in front of it to make sure it could be a good baby name and a good adult, professional name…so “The Honorable Ethan Michael Knowles”

We couldn’t decide on a name until we were in the hospital.

Thanks for the advice Tara. I’ve been trying to say them out loud. I’d really like to use Venus as a middle name.
I’m still trolling the name sites. I’ve got to come up with something unique yet tolerable for the poor child.

Matt, My mom gave me the advice to not name my child until it is born. So I would make a list of names I liked and as I got to know my child, I would try out the different names. Of course an ultrasound gives you an advantage of only having to figure out girl names. My oldest son was Heath LaVern but his name is Benjamin Daniel. My middle son was Michael Scott but he is Matthew Lynn and Andrew Kenneth was Elizabeth Lou until he was born…haha, so unless you feel strongly about a name, don’t narrow it down to just one!

Thanks Sheila! I can’t find myself settling on any one name right now. There are too many good ones.
